Universities Fighting World Hunger Call for Speakers 2018

Universities Fighting World Hunger is a growing, global network of universities working in partnership to amplify the voice of the rising generation – a voice calling for a world free from hunger and malnutrition. They hold an annual international conference where students, administrators, and activists can share their insights.

The next conference will be held on March 16 and 17, 2018 at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Share Meals has been accepted to present a workshop on our cross disciplinary co-creation efforts, specifically how we've created a space for multiple majors to solve hunger. Our full proposal is available here.

NYU also provides a conference fund that will reimburse any undergraduate or graduate student speaking at a conference up to $750 to cover travel, hotel, and registration. As such, Share Meals is inviting any NYU student active or interested in hunger relief and food security to join us as a featured speaker. The conference fund is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed.

Benefits

  • All expenses covered by the conference fund; registering for the UFWH summit will also include breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Opportunity to learn and network with peer student leaders nationally and internationally
  • Earn speaking credit at an international conference to boost your resume
